Buying a car at auction?

Question

How much of a discount i guess do you get buying at a dealer auction. The car i want is usually 6-9k in dealers. How much would it sell for auction. Its a a 2000 Land Rover Discovery.

if u have a freind that is a salesman ask him/ her for the black book price thats what a dealer would buy it for at auction

it doesn't really matter unless u have a dealers license or a close friend who does.  and to get one u have to have a lot and building with insurance which cost more than what the savings are worth.

and dont get a land rover.  there super nice on the inside and decent off road (but who goes offroad any way) but thats it.

if u want a luxury five seater suv id go with the lexus rx or mercedes gl, or acura mdx

Seeing as how the Land Rovers were ranked as one of the worst cars in quality they should be pretty cheap i've seen their value dropping more and more on ebay.
