  1. If you just traded the civic in, you're automatically covered for insurance.  If you bought it from a dealer, you should have a temporary tag in the back window of the bronco

    Just tell the insurance as soon as you can; once you have called them, keep the civic's old insurance card in to have the policy number.  If they stop you, they can call the insurance to verify that you have switched to the bronco..

    The penalty for driving without insurance is VERY steep, including heavy fines, community service, license suspension, and jail time.

    If you DO have insurance, but you don't have the card on you, it's a $100 fine, but you have 48 hours to present the insurance card to the police that gave you the ticket.

  2. The penalties for driving without insurance in New Jersey are:

    First offense: Up to $1000 fine; community service; DMV surcharges of $250 for 3 years; 9 insurance points

    Second offense: Up to $5000 fine; mandatory jail sentence of 14 days; 30 days community service; license suspension for 2 years or more;

  3. Bad, bad idea to drive without insurance. Plus, a Bronco only gets about 8 or 9 miles per gallon. Why would you want that?
