is there a way to make sure i wont get ripped off? he claims to be stationed in alaska, and will have the car shipped to me. i planned on looking at the car in person here in michigan like the ad said, but i guess hes now stationed in alaska. there has to be a full-proof way to do this.

  1. UJN is 100% correct.

Very well-known scam running on craigslist right now.

Stop all communication with this person. They are NOT military, they are overseas scam artists. The car in the ad exists, but they pulled the pic from another ad. If you send any money to them, it's gone and is nearly impossible to get back.

  2. That's a SCAM Hes says he stationed in Alaska and the car is somewhere else and needs to sell because he cant register it or has a sick family member. The car is priced below market value and will have Ebay Finance hold and handle the payment of the car and you have 3 days to look at  it and decide if you like it. If not you can send it back. And you will be protected by Ebay protection plan if anything is wrong and you don't want or like it. Or even if anything goes wrong with the car they will cover it......................Does any of this ring a bell with his ad???????????? This is a known SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM.  He does not own the car it is all made up to get you to send your money to him. If you send it to him you will lose it. And there is no way to get it back. Cut off all contact with the SCAMMER and run a virus scan on your computer. If you emailed him or clicked any links in his ad you may have a virus or key logger program in your computer. This a common scam on Ebay and Craiglslist. Do not buy a car you cannot see ,touch and drive in person to avoid getting scammed. Again this is a SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM. avoid it and go on..............UJN

  3. i would seriously think hard about buying something i haven't seen. hope everything works out for you though.

  4. Have you spoken with the seller on the phone? Have you seen the car? Have you test driven the car? Have you had a mechanic check out the car? Have you gotten a CarFax report? Have you gotten the "owner" to fax you a copy of his clear title? Does the VIN on the title match the car's VIN? Does the car exist? Is the price of the vehicle worth the high risk of such a deal? Are you willing to lose your money and get no car?

  5. Do you buy on ebay.?  If it is you can check the seller's rating and reputation.
