Buying a car on eBay?

I'm looking around for a first car, and I came across this Durango on eBay.. I'm wondering why it is so cheap. I'm not sure how buying cars on eBay works.. Would I really only pay $1000 for this car? I'd appreciate any shared knowledge about buying used cars!

I would not buy a used car unless it was from a dealer, at least you would get some kind of warranty and a place to take it back if it is a lemon, e-bay, your crusin for a brusin, if it sounds too good to be true then it is, you have no idea what kind of damage this vehicle has had or how it runs, you don't buy a car without trying it first and even take it to a garage for a once over to make sure your not buying someone's troubles. Pass on this deal and look around in your area for that first special car.

the starting bid is `1,000. that doesnt mean you will get it for 1,000. most likely the person selling it has a reserve price meaning a price they wont go lower under this durango isnt worth more then 5500

v8 = horrible gas mileage
