Okay.. I've looked at SO many video cameras but i don't know which one will be right. I'm going to make a short movie and i need a decent camera. The movies just a project and it'd be nice to see it in good quality. I have £200 to spend ($400) but i'd prefer not to spend THAT much on one. It's a horror film so the camera will have to be good in low lighting. Any ideas?

  1. I would suggest 1 of these, both less than £200!

    or this

I have had both and they are brilliant. I paid almost double at the time. both are brilliant in the dark, has brilliant zoom, both are under £150 delivery and with warranty and from a respectable manufacturer!!!

    hope this helps!

  2. Go for an entry level MiniDV camcorder from Sony, Canon, JVC or Panasonic - avoid DVD based camcorders like the plague!!

Cameras that are good in low light make it look like the light wasn't low - that might defeat the objective ;-)  You'd be better off playing with the brightness when you're editing - get good footage and do the work in post production.
