Buying a diesel or petrol car?

I'm considering buying a new car soon. Diesel fuel is cheaper here than gasoline. In the long run, I'd like to know which would be worth my money considering fuel costs, maintenance. I was told that new diesel engines have good performance comparable to gasoline engines.

  1. If diesiel is cheap in your country then i would definetly go with diesel as you get better mileage per litre nad it it is also better for the environment.in terms of maintainence, as far as i know it costs the same for servicing and repairs.

  2. generally speaking diesels require less maintenance than their gasoline cousins.
