Buying a digital camera, recommendations?

I'm fairly unsteady with my hands, so a camera that has a high shudder speed I guess would be optimum. I'm not very knowledgeable on digital cameras and I've never shopped for one before. I'm looking for one around $100 but I can go as high as $300ish. I don't need something professional, just somewhat high quality for personal use. Good resolution is a must, and what I'm really interested in is being able to see the screen as I'm taking the picture. I used to have a flip out screen that was great, unfortunately the resolution was terrible and the camera didn't last long. Looking for something modern. Bonus points for it's ability to take good videos!

  1. canon s3is. Pretty much an slr but not. Good video and sound. You can probably get one on sale. Walmart has them. Good zoom. Macros ok.

  2. Look here for a P&S camera that has Image Stabilization (IS) or a proper viewfinder so you can hold the camera against your cheek and hole it with both hands ... when you are squeezing the shutter release

  3. Hi,

I did a lot of research and found Canon PowerShot SD870 is to be the best camera for the money.

This camera is totally awesome! Takes very high quality pictures at a very fast speed. I highly recommend it for its small size, image stabilizer and long life rechargeable battery.

From the first day I received it. I just love it. Great shots up close and far away. Moreover, this is a very handy, tiny and light camera that you can carry in your pocket without feeling it.

The screen is huge and the colors are really good.

Menus and settings are very easy and clear. Some tips appear on the screen when you are using different modes, it is very helpful.

    Great camera!!!

    I bought it at http://www.urlfunz.com/GWx3l
