  1. you should look into an armored case/cover for your camera, whatever you get, they are available to fit most digital SLR cameras and the quality of these cameras is awesome.

  2. First, GE does not make cameras. GE simply buys from the low bidder and puts their logo on the camera.

If you stay with Sony or Nikon or Olympus or Canon or Fuji or Sigma or Panasonic your money will be better spent.

Since you want a durable camera, I suggest the Olympus Stylus 850SW. Waterproof to 10' and shockproof to a 5' drop.

  3. Hi,

I did a lot of research and found Canon PowerShot SD870 is to be the best camera for the money.

(8.3 Megapixel, 3.8x Optical Zoom, 4x Digital Zoom, CCD Sensor, 3" LCD)

This camera is totally awesome! Takes very high quality pictures at a very fast speed. I highly recommend it for its small size, image stabilizer and long life rechargeable battery.

From the first day I received it. I just love it. Great shots up close and far away. Moreover, this is a very handy, tiny and light camera that you can carry in your pocket without feeling it.

The screen is huge and the colors are really good.

Menus and settings are very easy and clear. Some tips appear on the screen when you are using different modes, it is very helpful.

    Great and durable camera!!!

    I bought it here:
