  1. hey um well yes the foam boards are easier to learn on but if you already know how I mean i think you should go with something else becuase I think you will get tired of a foam board and adventually want a hard board but it depends on how easy u catch on a lot of my friends have a fish board it paddles like a long and rides like a short umm but those are kinda pricey so u can do what ever you think is the best ohh and u can alwyas if u get a foam re trade it and get some money to move up to a hard!! good luck

  2. New surfers look for a 7' - 7'6" Funs shape board. Expect to pay $300 for a decent stick.

Good luck and stay with it! It will change your life forever!

  3. If you are still developing your ability but are mostly a beginner, get an inexpensive mid-size imported board.  Take a look at the available shapes and sizes on the Isle Surfboards website.  They are typical of what you should be paying at your local shops.  I suggest you buy a funboard shape between 7'8" and 8'3" as those are standard off the shelf sizes.  I don't suggest you buy a soft top.  I use them in my surf school and they don't last as long as regular glass boards do.
