I want a boat for a small lake , don't need speed, just to do do some fishing. I want for at least 6 people. I don't know where to start looking or even what to look for. What do I look for or avoid. Any suggestions?

  1. first cost how much do u want to spend then maybe do u want to use a tube  u can get a pontoon cheap  look in the boat trader can find good deals  u will need at least a 16 foot  to have that many people than a 40 horse power engine min to push

  2. For six people fishing on a small lake, a pontoon boat is ideal...  Certainly it will give you the most room, and be the least expensive.  I wouldn't really worry about size (other than for price comparison).  You probably won't see any pontoons smaller than 16 feet and most you see will be between 18 and 24 feet.  Just look for the best deal.

I would look in the newspaper under boats for sale, and I would especially look in the small free (neighborhood) papers like "Greensheets" or "Penny Savers".  (I see lots of pontoons in those papers in my area.) You might also get lucky on E-Bay and find one close to where you live.

    Good luck & Happy boating!
