Do you recommend it? We are pre-approved and have been looking for a home. We haven't moved there yet.. moving in Sept. Do you have any recommendations.. Yes I've done lots of homework and know how expensive it is.. Any stories? Would like military experiences, please. Also, there are alot of short sales and great "deals" now. Is now the time to buy??

  1. The prices have gone down, we have vacation rentals in Maui, and they may go down more, but I don't think much more. There are 19 units for sale in Maui Vista, where our condos are!  There is such a limited amount of land, that there will always be a need. I think that it would probably be a good time to buy something, interest rates are down and there are alot of foreclosures. Tourism and the economy are down. You probably could get a pretty good deal. Many people, like us, are feeling the slow down in rentals, with the cost of flying doubling, and will think about to selling. We have all of September open right now- very unusual for our rentals! Email if you wish more information- bigbearmaui@aol.com

  2. Lots of Hawaii houses are on leased land.   That is best avoided.  I was in the military and you will have to move when you least expect it.  Buy a house where you eventually plan to retire. /

  3. going to get cheaper.......
