  1. 19 and junior enlisted?  I'm afraid you'll have a hard time unless you have lots of cash.  In any event, I would rethink it since you are in the service and subject to transfer.

  2. You could probably get approved for a home between 80-100k, depending if you have decent credit.  There are some good opinions here as far as what you should do.  Being in the military does give you options and also let's you be more flexible as far as mortgage programs.  If you think you would be transferred within 5 years, an arm in an option for you as why pay principle if you have a strong possibility of not being in the home for a long time.  If you believe you won't be transferred, then a fixed rate mortgage would be a good option.  If you want to talk more let me know, I'm a broker in charlotte as well, good luck and thank you for serving

  3. go to lending tree .com and just use this website (privacy) to establish if this is do-able....I used them 3 mths ago and then got financed thru someone else. I just used the website to see if my deal could be done. Your being in the military, I would think it's VA...if not, use FHA.

  4. You need to meet with a loan officer to get the answers to these questions.  Your question cannot be answered with the information provided.  We don't know your income, credit history, price of homes you are looking at, how much money you are putting down, assets, liabilities, job history, etc.
