Buying a hybrid car?

Question

I am looking to buy a hybrid car. There are a few choices out there but not that many. Is it best if I wait for the new upcoming releases or shop for a car now.

i think the hybrid market is about done for the moment with new vehicles, i'd stick with toyota or honda they seem to have the hybrid thing down pretty well

there wont be any new releases for another couple of years...

Ford has some nice vehicles toyota and honda have the hybrid thing down.... hence you see more of their hybrids on the roads than any other manufacturer...

The buzz on the hybrids is that some new technology is coming in 2010.  

Also GM and Ford are gearing up (again) .. see "who killed the electric car" vid if you want to more about this travesty.

The big difference is that they will be modded for more pure electric charging and running .. which I have read can be done now with aftermarket help.

There are however some very interesting all electric cars coming this year.
