Buying a moped?

Question

How should i expect to pay for a fairly average/good second hand 50cc moped? Any other costs i need to know regarding them, other than filling it up of course.

It very much depends on the make and model.  You could spend anywhere from 500 up to 3000 on a used scooter.

Other costs -

Helmet

A good quality lock and chain - essential if you want to keep it.

Gloves - strongly recommended

Good footwear - strongly recommended

Insurance - might cost more than the bike, but essential.

Maintenance - oil, tyres etc.

Training - strongly recomended

Your driving license - essential

Don't forget to check the tyre pressure and oil level every week. Check lights, brakes and fuel before every trip.

Check chain tension and lube every week.
