Im about to buy a new Bike and wanted to ask a couple of questions. Im 6'1 and about 150-155 lbs. And was wondering what would be a good size bike for me a 125 2 stroke or a 250 2 stroke. And what are some things to look for when buying a used bike?

  1. Any 250 f. I ride Yamaha's but the Hon Suz Kaw are all good.

If buying used buy the newest year you can afford, and from a guy that maintains his stuff well, Look at the condition of the bike in all areas. If the chains worn out and not adjusted then the oil has most likely not been changed either.

  2. Do youself a favour and buy a 4 stroke 250cc.  Any of the known brand 250f's would be just perfect for you .

If buying used try to take someone along with you who can check the bike over properly even if you have to pay for the service.  That way you wont be paying for it later when you buy a lemon that needs major work done straight away.

  3. Neither of the two strokes is a good idea. They are examples of dated technology, and are obsolete. The 4 strokes blow these bikes away with mountains of torque and less shifting.

Buy a 4 stroke Honda CR250F and enjoy. Its worth the extra money. Honda has incredible financing, its better than laying out all of your cash for something used that you have no idea how it was maintained or ridden. Change oil often, and you will have not one problem with the Honda.

  4. two strokes are better bikes than four stroke one their more powerful their easier to maintain even though you do go through brakes faster I don't really see why everyone changed because if the pros were still riding two strokes these peoples opinions would be much different they obviosly don't know much anyway get a 250

  5. don't listen to them a 4 strokes are alot harder to work on than two stroke I have a 125 and my friend has a kx250f and I perfer my bike over his by far go with a 125  and when buying it ask about the top end and how old the rider was old people arn't as hard on bikes

  6. get a honda crf250r (thats a 4 stroke) for sure. amazing bikes, everything is great about them. the power is for all sorts of riders and all sorts of riding. I have had almost no problems with my crf other than a couple small things, but that was just aftermarket parts that i put on that caused them. either way, you can never go wrong with a crf. and if you get a crf250r that is 2006 or newer, it comes with dual exhaust, which sounds amazing...and SUPPOSEDLY it helps the center of gravity. but if you are wondering if that will cost more than an older single exhaust model or be more maintenance, IT WONT...the only thing is that if you happen to have some sort of a problem with the exhaust then you will need to work on two cans instead of one.
