Question:

Buying a new YAMAHA open holed flute?

Because of high silver and gold prices right now, I'm holding off on buying a Muramatsu open holed flute until I graduate from high school. (I'm a junior this year)

My "transition" flute is going to either be a

YAMAHA YFL-XT 1 (Solid sterling silver head joint)

or

YAMAHA YFL-XT 2 (Solid sterling silver everything)

I already know the F/F# keys are heavier, and the right pinky key is EXTREMELY heavy, but I was wondering why this model was discontinued.

Was it because of those little defects? Or was there a different reason. Please let me know if there are any other defects with this flute if you know.

Thanks!
