I currently have a plan with sprint. How can I buy a new phone that sprint will conect so it will work on my current plan and I won't have to extend he contract? I have several phones under this contract. two work, one disconnects ( shuts off at the slightest whim on its own) and the 4th doesn't work at all. Help me! My son need a working phone before Wed. when he leaves for college. He could take one that works but one his sister has one and she can't give it up as she lives far away any way and the other is PINK! I am not doing that to him. Please give me some great ideas. PS I do not want ot extend my contract and don't want to pay hundreds of bucks for a phone if I can avoid it.

  1. It seems like your only other option is to buy a used phone.

Try looking on Ebay and Craigslist, they have many listings for used phones. Be aware though, a lot of those phones are stolen, or frauds, so make sure that they have a 30 day return policy (that way you can make sure its legit).

Once you buy the phone, just take it to sprint, and they'll activate it for you (did i mention a blackberry makes a great going away gift?).

Or, you can buy him a prepaid cell phone until your contract is up. Be aware though, if he is an avid user of his phone, prepaid phones can get costly. Its a great alternative if you just want him to have a temporary phone for calling home, and emergencies.

    Good luck!
