Hey i am going to buy a new computer at the end of this year and I'm unsure if i should get the new intell (nehalem) or the amd(shanghai) and i would like to spend a maximum of 310 on the processor or do you guys reckon their whole range will be more expensive than that?

  1. $'s or £'s. Either way go with Intel

  2. Intel is topdog right now so go with them over AMD for sure.

Rumour has it that the Nehalem will dominate the Shanghai.

Now I don't know how price will factor in, that's impossible to say. Traditionally AMD is cheaper for a bit less performance, but I can't see Intel not having an entry-level Nehalem CPU. Therefore with a budget of $310 you could very likely get at least the base model, if not something with a bit more kick. Or just buy the base and a nice CPU cooler then OC it to be better.

    I'd say go Intel.

  4. Intel is better so hope it is within your price range :-) http://www.mymediatutorials.com/
