Buying a new mountain bike?

Question

I am looking to buy a new mountain bike from $350-$550. I am looking for a leightweight bike the most, front suspension is also required, but disc brakes are not, rim brakes will do me just fine although if they cost nearly the same as disk brakes, I would shell out the little extra for the disc brakes. I am looking to buy a good brand bike, something that is reliable used or new. What would be some good options?
