Hello I wanted to buy a train ticket with my solo debit card but found out that I cant. I have a paypal account as well but I didnt find an option for paying via paypal. Can I book it and then collect it and pay for it at the same time so I can get one of the cheaper tickets?

  1. I don't think so. But you can go to any station and pay cash, and get the same deal. Or don't you get a Switch card with your bank account?  You can use that on the internet or by phone just like a credit card. Ask, if you have not got one.

Of course, if you wanted to use Solo to be able to buy it on credit, neither of those options will work. Maybe you should get a different credit card - Visa or Mastercard is acceptable just about everywhere in UK, but Visa is more useful overseas.

  2. yes pay cash at the station. The tickets are availiable there too if you go in early enough (6 weeks). As for solo and electron no company on the ATOC scheme accepts either of these cards.

  3. You can't use a solo since network rail don't accept it. You can go to your departure station or a station you pass through en route and buy your cheap ticket in person. You just need to be clear. You could figure out the details online and go in person and specifically ask for this ticket at that time
