  1. My very favourite car in the whole world. Iv owned 2, the ecotec and the red top variations. Pay of no mind to those who say "stay away from the ecotec" because they are full of pointless breath! My ecotec was perfection, as was the red top. They handle beautifully, are fast as the proverbial p**p off a stick! If god drove a car he would own one...not mine though...no way in h**l! xxDxx

  2. I had a K reg 2 litre 8 valve calibra 115bhp DO NOT BUY THIS VERSION i had previously owned a G reg sri cavalier SRI 130. the calibra was absolutly gutless in comparison and would not pull the skin from a rice pudding. I wish i had bought the red top 16 valve instead i wouldn't buy the V6 if i were you as we all know which way car tax is heading in the near future and a 2.5 will be pretty dam expensive to tax. I hope this helps.

  3. i used to have one....a red one & i loved it.  only disappointment was it didn't have air con but i didn't have a single day's trouble with that car - very reliable.

  4. Hi,

Nice car, try to avoid the ecotec versions and instead go for the red top engine (have red rocker covers). The 16v and V6 versions are the best bet.  Try for a straight car with lots of history, oil and cam belt changes vital.  Check the electrics work and make sure it hasnt been bashed!

  5. What a great car and strangely enough my wife was talking tonight about having one as a second car do to us enjoying the one we had so much.

The car itself is the best car i have ever owned not the fastest or the best looking  but as a driver ,due to it being easy to drive very comfy and a nice easy car to drive IE easy steering to park nice just an easy car.

Myself owned the ecotec version not the faster of the range but def a fast car for what it was and fuel was excellent and repairs cheap.

We had the SE7 which had a cream leather interior and was great and looked great also.

Def get one before they get to old.

pics of our old one excuse the temp drive.

  6. it is a very good car. sporty looking and very reliable.

Along with cheap to fix as it is Vauxhall.

I would avoid the 1.8, it is waaaay to slow as the car is quite heavy. as somebody else has emntioned, the V6 is a good one, or the 2.0ltr.

I wouldn't go near the turbo for insurance purposes and it has probably had a hard life so far.

also because they are quite old cars now, you really need to make sure you check it over well and all of its history. wheel arches for rust etc which was a common sight if not looked after on the early 90 versions
