Buying airline ticket...please help!!?

Ok, I was wanting to go to Texas to see my brother who is in the Air Force, and i haven't seen him in over a year. So i was wanting to buy a ticket online, but i'm guessing you have to have a credit card of some sort. Well i don't have one, because i'm scared of them pretty much. Is there any other way that i can buy a ticket? I was wanting to leave pretty soon, like sometime next week. Also this is my first time flying, and i'll be by myself so if you could fill me in on restrictions as far as luggage and things like that, then that would be great also. I'm completely new to all of this, so i have no idea how anything works, so everything you know will be great!! Thanks in advance!!

you should use a parents card  and pay them back  or you could go the the airport and buy one there, but i would go ahead of time.

also if you book on the weekdays is cheaper than weekends

You need a credit or debit card to buy a ticket online. Or like the user above said you can go to the airport and buy a ticket there.

When traveling, i believe you can have 1 carry on and your purse. If you have any liquids they should be 3oz or smaller.
