Buying alcohol question at grocery store?

Hi, i just bought some alcohol at the grocery store, they carded me naturally, but the lady typed some numbers into her keyboard thing. What did she enter off of my ID into her keyboard thing...ie:numbers/code/birthday?

she puts her code in the computer also she puts your bday on it.

she entered your birthdate, check the reciept it's probably printed on there.  this is proof on her part and if someone should stop you on your way out - managment, police, sheriff, alcohol board member.

She entered the birthdate.  They know me down at the store and they just enter a generic bdate to get me out of their quick (like 1/1/80)

She was only entering your b-day for now. But my pal was telling me a story he read about, where the law enforcement officials want you to have to scan your license everytime you buy beer. That way cops can scan your license and see if you have bought beer in the last 24 hrs. when you get pulled over.
