Buying american car in canada to take home to usa?

i just won a car on ebay but ha! the seller lives in canada, 50 miles north of the border. can i just hop on the bus and go pick it up, or is there import tax, inspections, to deal with?

you bet there will be taxes, import duties, and inspections check with US customs and your state DMV for the regulations.

You'll have to go through all of that, the import tax, inspections and the whole nine yards with customs. Good luck with that, that's one of the reasons why I left my old car back in the states when I moved.
