Deal includes controls & owner will set up a run test. What should I be aware of. Owner indicates compression is within 5 lbs. on each cyl. & low hours (probably driven to church on Sunday too) Did this motor have any weak areas or problems I should look for.? Are parts available for an engine this old if something should go awry? Thanks in advance for your input.

  1. can't remember what type of gearbox it has, make shure it don't jump out of gear at high revs.

  2. I hope it's cheap. 80's is getting a bit old now. I had an early 80's 150 black max , the only problem I had was with the gearbox so check that carefully , especially if the seller means a run test in a tank and not on a boat.

  3. Call Troutt and Sons Monday and talk to Chris Troutt.  He will let you know all about that motor.
