Question:

Buying an electric scooter/moped/motorcycle?

I'm on here because I've done some research myself but I still feel very stuck. I was looking at the EVT-4000 because of the speed it can reach, although the cost seems to be quite a lot. I wanted something around 1500 but can still reach speeds above 40km/h. I live in Toronto and want to find a dealer that will give me a good price for a good moped/scooter. Any suggestions??

  1. There is a shop in downtown Toronto that sells electric scooters with a top speed of 30 km/h (the legal limit for ebikes in Ontario).

    Totally Scooters

    715 Queen Street West

  2. There's a guy on youtube who's pretty much assembled an electric bike from various commercially available parts.  He uses from 2 to 6 36v DeWalt nano lithium batteries for example, and a "low end" mountain bike.

On his website that he links to, he says he spent about $1600 putting it together, and that in terms of performance it's comparable or better than much more expensive, commercially available bikes.

I've looked at prices on a few scooters and bikes.  I suspect a diy project like this might indeed be the cheapest way to go, if you're inclined to put things together yourself.

  3. The links below should help you out.  Probably the closest mopeds meeting your needs are from Skeuter.
