Question:

Buying contact solution while abroad?

I will be studying abroad for 3-4 months next year, in London, and I've been thinking - what if I need to buy more contact solution? Here's the deal: when I first got contacts, I used Opti-Free, but after a month I developed some sort of reaction (it turned the whites of my eyes bright red). So my optometrist, not knowing exactly what was causing the problem, told me to switch to Clear Care (with the funky case where it has to sit and go through some sort of chemical reaction for 6 hrs)which has worked great ever since. But from what I've seen on the manufacturer's website, I don't believe that exact item is sold in the UK. Is there another item that is similar? Or should I plan on bringing 3-4 months worth of solution with me (a hassle as I would prefer to pack as lightly as possible)?

  1. There will be similar products available in the UK. I would suggest you wait until you get there, and take your currant product to a dispensing chemist, where they will be able to match it to a local product.
