Buying figure skates?

I'm going to buy figure skates and I'm in the isi level Gamma and I'm not sure if i should buy Blue ribbon 121 (Riedell) or Bronze Medallion 280

  1. You should get the medallions.


  2. If your foot is still growing you should go with the 121 unless you have trouble with pronation (foot falling in) or supination (foot falling out) when you bend your knees.  You cannot move the blade on a 121 to compensate for pronation or supination.

    If your foot has stopped growing or you have trouble with pronation or supination go with the 280.  If you pronate or supinate, order the skate with the blade unattached and the skate technician at the pro shop can mount the blade to compensate for the problem without having to plug holes in the sole of the boot (which compromises the integrity of the boot).  Also, I recommend the Jubilee blade with the 280 it is the best blade choice for that model.

  3. get the bronze 280 cuz it will last longer but if your feet r growing then get the blue ribbon

  4. I would buy the Bronze Medallion because if you buy the 121 you will only be using it for one more month! I got the blue ribbon ones when I was it beta, then we had to sell them after 2 months...
