Buying fish on aquabid.com?

Question

I won 2 auctions on aquabid.com and was wondering if my fish will come alive or not and how good the quality of them will be. I bought some endler fry and some wild guppy fry. The prices were pretty good and the shipping was fair so, I bid. I`m just curious if anyone else has won an auction on there. Any feedback will be appreciated.

so far i had great success with aquabid the ship the fish in plastic bags in styrofoam boxes sometimes with heating pads depending where its being shipped to. i love aquabid, just make sure the seller has good feedback and you should not have any problems.

I have bought from several sellers on aquabid.com. The fish have been great quality and have all come alive. They have some great deals ( you have to look for them) on shipping and mixed lots of fish and plants. Check out Crackedglass as a seller. All their auctions ship for $6.00. Well, shipping fish to your house is really a gamble of a fish's life whether it would survive or not. Well, the chance of fish alive is 60%, although it has survived, it stresses the fish a lot. If its dead, some online fish store returns you 40% of the money back, but it is very difficult to prove that your fish was dead due to shipping.

Asking if Aquabid itself isn't what you need to know-- the site has no control over how its users handle their sales.  The quality of the fish and shipping you receive will depend directly on who you bought from.  I have had great experiences with Larryp (Discus) and Blueram06 (Hillstream Loaches).  They were very helpful and shipped very healthy, quality fish, all of which arrived alive.  I would guess most of the sellers there are of good quality, but if you're unsure, you can check their feedback to see how their buyers' experiences were.
