Buying foreclosed properties?

Question

I'm interested in buying a foreclosed property, either to rent out or resell. What information can anyone here give me to help me on my way. The last thing I want to do is get one of those ridiculous infomercial programs. Thanks.

Do you mean you want to know how to locate the properties?  The easiest thing to do is read the legal notices in your local newspaper.  Anything that is going to be foreclosed on is listed there.  Also, call local banks and ask if they provide a listing of their foreclosed properties.
