Question:

Buying guitars at swap meet?

Well, there's a swap meet here that sells musical instruments pretty cheap. But the thing is, they're not name brand or anything. There's no logo or sign on them that says their brand, so I'm not sure if I should buy it. I don't honestly care about the brand of a guitar, since they're all made the same way now (well, most of them), but I'm just not sure if this is a waste of money. I mean, I don't want the guitar to be in bad quality after just a few plays...

Anyways, it's only $100, so... should I get it? It's electric, so I think that's fairly cheap, don't you think? And if I buy it, this will be my first electric guitar.

  1. NO! brand is definately more than a certian design when it comes to guitars. ive never seen a quality guitar for under $300. dont buy it i guaruntee itl be a mistake and u will regret it

  2. play around on it plugged into an amp before you buy it.if it sounds clean and feels good to you,buy it.its going to be your first,so it doesnt have to be anything fancy.

    good luck

  3. well your right about cheap Chinese guitars being all the same however you may have to go through a dozen or so to find a playable one but they are out there. it's the law of averages, I've actually seen a few but I know what to look for and listen to, so if you don't have a friend like me to help you pick one out I'd go to a good guitar shop, they get there return business by not selling junk, and ya never know, someday you may feel the need to step up to a real guitar, and yes they sell low end Chinese guitars,  set up and tuned, that's how they get you in the door to gain your trust so that when your interested in that sweet little Les Paul hanging on the wall you know your not getting ripped!! unlike the fellas at the flea market!!

  4. get it and then when u get a lot of $$$ buy those really good guitars
