I'm about to buy a new pair of speakers and I'm looking at Alpine SPS-600. I'm wondering what the difference is between those and SPS-600C, which is slightly more expensive. Which one should I get?

  1. get the slightly more expensive ones...

    they sound tons better

also get a jackhammer in ur trunk

  2. SPS-600 spec=

    6-1/2"/6-3/4" 2-way speakers (pair)

polypropylene-mica woofer cone with air-injected rubber surround

    1" silk dome tweeter

power range: 2-80 watts RMS (240 watts peak power)

    frequency response: 70-22,000 Hz

    sensitivity: 88 dB

    top-mount depth: 2-1/4"

    SPS-600C specs=

component speaker system includes two woofers, two tweeters, and two built-in crossovers

6-1/2" polypropylene-mica woofer cone with air-injected rubber surround

woofer fits 6-1/2" and 6-3/4" speaker openings

    1" silk dome tweeter

power range: 2-80 watts RMS (240 watts peak power)

    frequency response: 70-22,000 Hz

    sensitivity: 88 dB

    top-mount depth: 2-1/4"

they are about the same but with component systems it is usually harder to install becasue of the seperate tweeters and with components things like imaging, come into play to effect your soundstage

    here is the differece

    Full-range Speakers

Full-range speakers accurately reproduce your music's frequency range by mounting a tweeter inside the woofer cone. This is also known as a coaxial, or 2-way speaker. Some versions may add midranges or supertweeters to better reproduce other parts of the frequency spectrum. These are also referred to by the number of drivers (3-way, 4-way, etc.).

    Component System

Component systems, or separates, use a superior speaker design to give you the best possible sound. A typical separates system includes 2 woofers, 2 tweeters, and 2 external crossovers — all of which are designed to work smoothly with one another.

Generally, components are made of better materials than their two- or three-way counterparts. You can position the separate tweeters for optimal imaging. Given adequate power, separates deliver exceptional dynamics and detail

    Imaging

Imaging describes the extent to which a stereo system reproduces the location of instruments and vocalists as they were positioned during recording and mixing.

    Soundstage

The soundstage refers to your sense of width, depth and height when you listen to music — just as you would sense the placement of different instruments in a live concert setting. Individual vocal and instrumental "images" make up your stereo system's soundstage

  3. The Alpine SPS-600C is a component speaker system which includes two woofers, two tweeters, and two built-in crossovers

  4. the old saying goes..
