Question:

Buying new tires - what type of labor goes with it?

I need to buy new tires, but the question is aside from the price of the tires, how much can I expect to pay for labor? What labor is involved in the process and how much should I expect to pay?

It's down to Tire Kingdom, which offers buy 3 get one free or the Mazda dealership, which offers free mount and balance with the purchase of 4 tires. With the dealership coupon, will I still have to pay other fees aside from the tires? Or should I go with Tire kingdom's special?

  1. Well the only things extra you will have to pay for other than the tires themselves are getting them balanced on the rim, and installed, thats it! And that costs maybe $100 IF THAT...depends what your shop rates are like...good luck!

  2. when you ask for a quote, ask for out the door pricing which should include mounting, balance, new stems, taxes and disopsal fees.

some areas add on shop fees and environmental fees as well

get it in writing and go with the lowest.

try costco and the big box retailers also

  3. Usually any tire store includes mounting and balancing especially when buying a complete set of tires. Ask "em" at both places & compare prices for equal quality tires before you sign the dotted line.

  4. Have price given to you by both places for the type of insulation needed as to total cost.  Involved will be price of the tires (make sure the brand and type are the same), tire valve stems, mount and balance, type of air to be inflated (regular or nitrogen), disposal fees, and taxes.  The list does add up for the bottom line price.

  5. usually when you buy off a tire shop, the labor is allready included, thats counting breaking them down and new valve stems and balancing them.

  6. it is usually about 7 bucks a tire for mounting and balancing. so i would say expect to pay about 35 bucks for installing them, and also they charge 2 to 4 bucks a tire for a disposal fee, so if you want to save a few bucks tell them u want to keep your old tires. thats an extra 16bux on top of the 35 bux.
