Buying one's food????? ?

Buying one's food?????

well i still live with my family parents and 2 siblings, and i'm not eating the right type of foods for a 15 year old (and i want to still grow in height, because det can affect my growth right?) because you know my parents are so busy with their career and work, i just want to know wouldn't it be awkward if i just buy my own grocery with my money and not share with them? like im not being selfish its just i want to eat like differently and healthier..... should i tell them first and explain why.........i dont want to sound selfish to them i just cant afford to do and buy food for all of us because i only get $1,200 a month and i have many purposes for that money, i cant afford to buy it for all of us...i can only afford that for myself...

  1. Can you buy yourself one of the small college sized refrigerators to put your own food in?  I don't think it would be selfish at all even if you put your food into the main frige.  If you choose to be healthy your parents should see that as a good thing and pat you on the back for being so responsible.

    Good luck!

  2. Why don't you ask your parents if they would buy more healthy things for you to eat so you could make your own meals.  They should be feeding you still since you're only 15, so it shouldn't be a problem.  Maybe offer to make dinner 3 times a week if they will buy different and healthier groceries.  And also if you feel like buying yourself a couple things for when you're on the go, do that and keep them in your room.  Or in your locker at school.  Just talk to your parents....I'm sure they'll understand that you want to eat healthier!!

  3. Tell your parents and siblings you are starting a diet and would appreciate it if they didn't eat your food because you want to eat as healthy as possible but they are more than welcome to start buying the same things and you all could put name labels on everything so everybody knows who's is who's.

  4. that is kinda wierd and awkward. but it would be sending a message to mom n dad

why not talk to mom n dad about altering the diet around the house.  also, offer up some new recipies, i think one would have to be a complete idiot about not knowing how to cook, with foodnetwork out there!  ive learned alot from that show/site

talk to your parents about altering what is in the fridge, then im sure they will accomodate.  if not, i would get a little fridge for your room, they are like 150 bucks, and keep your own 'stash'..just dont make it beer n pizza!

  5. Just write it on a list let your folks buy if they eat it they will buy more, maybe they just dont buy what you want because they dont know.

That being selfish thing that wont fly, work with them .
