Buying power in Germany?

Question

How many euros would a Coke at a convenience store cost? or a candy bar? A burger and fries at McDonalds. Just trying to get my head around the buying power of the Euro. :)

Coke cost 1,10 Euro, Mc Donald you will pay so round 4-5 Euro.

you need more than 1 Euro at McDonald's - that's only for small special offer burgers.

A "Menü" at McDonald's (consisting of Burger, Fries and Coke) will cost around 6.50 to 8 Euros.

Chinese take-aways I know charge 4.90 to 6.50 for a main course (without drinks); fried noodles are a bit cheaper. But that's only take-aways, restaurants are considerably more expensive.

I don't know about the rest of the world, but in Germany the price differences between small corner shops and larger supermarkets can be huge.

In a supermarket, a half-litre bottle of own-brand cola will cost you as little as 0.21 Euros (21 EuroCents); but cheap supermarkets refuse to sell them singlefile and make you buy the whole six-pack;

please note that - for environmental reasons - for almost all plastic bottles and canned drinks there's a 25 Cent deposit, which you will get back by returning the bottle/can at any supermarket.

Candy bars are about 55 to 85 Cents, depending on brand and size, but own-brand stuff can be much cheaper.

In most German supermarkets, the price tags on the shelves contain - in small print - the price per 100g; or the price per 1KG [1000 grammes]; or the price per litre etc, etc,

so you have always the chance - with a bit of math - to compare which product is the cheapest, even if the package sizes / weight contents are all different.

Well, I paid 1 euro for a sandwich at McDonalds in Fall 2006, other prices, I don't remember.
