Buying property whilst on a STUDENT VISA eligible for Permenent Residency?

Property value no less than 750k - on a student visa - possible to apply for PR this way?

So far as I know, owning property in Australia will make no difference to whether or not you are eligible for Permanent Residency. The fact that you are willing and able to invest a lot of money in the country could certainly help you out in some categories, but I don;t think it's enough by itself.
