Buying something on EBAY?

Question

i am buying a sidekick LX on ebay and i was wondering what do you think the best method of pay is and how do i do it? can i pay with a debit card or no? im just so confused and if you can give me some extra information on the whole buying things off of ebay thing i will be very appreciative. =)

Credit card is the best method to pay. But make sure it's a reliable souce. Check how many good and bad responses that owner has. It should all be under the items description. Also check the return policy (scroll down on the items description page it will be there) . Make sure they let you return it. Because if you get some c**p and you can't return it... well you get the point..

The best way to pay for something is through paypal.com.  Most eBayers only use Paypal.com, because it protects the seller and the buyer for no cost.

If by chance you don't receive the product, you can open a dispute with paypal, and paypal will refund 100% of the cost.  However, it's always a good idea to purchase the insurance, especially when it's on a costly item.  This way if it is damaged through shipping you can file a claim through the post office and they will cover the merchandise and shipping costs.

Don't pay money order, cash or personal check.  There is no way to protect you as a buyer on ebay.

You may be able to pay with a debit card if the person selling the item is set up to accept credit card payments (most are not), but the easiest, safest, and most common way of paying for an eBay purchase is to set up a Paypal account. You can use your debit card to do that. Keep in mind it will take a few days to get your Paypal account established before you can use it to shop on eBay.
