Buying the iphone at att store or apple store, any difference?

Is there any difference or benefit between buying the iphone 3g from an att store or an apple store? there is an att store close to my house and an apple store very for away. I was wondering if there was any reason to make the trip on july 11th

If you buy apple iphone from apple store it will be much costly

And if you buy that phone from normal store it will be less costly...

why do you want to buy an iphone when you can get it for free? so id recommend going to http://www.freewebs.com/apple4free... and get it for free. Both the old and the new 3g iphone is avaliable.
