  1. Short answer is no. Buying a website on eBay is a terrible idea, basically because the seller may have sold that website countless times before. Therefore there may be numerous copies of it on the Internet, so it becomes hard to promote through Google AdWords and generic listings due to duplicate content.

However, I doubt you're a web designer or have experience in web design, so a website off eBay could be the perfect building block.

Just so you know, there are countless profitable methods in existence to promote affiliate products without the need for a website.

  3. Hi,

There are many ways to market a small business on the web.  You can buy banner ads, text links, or use PPC.  However, the best way is to get listed in a bunch of portals. Portals and directories are like phone books, and they often provide a lot of traffic because they tend to rank high on Google.

This portal is giving away a free business card holder for lising your business (I got mine a few days ago in the mail).  If you want to know about some other portals, just let me know.

  4. Why when building your own are just as easy?

I believe that if someone is selling something (business wise) it's because it's not profitable. Wouldn't it be better to make you own and improve it so it does make money.

    Nowadays it's so simple:

  5. There are three reasons that will make you want to buy an existing website.

1.) The website on sale has the perfect domain name that you have always wanted to own but unfortunately was owned by someone else. If this is the case then you might want to buy the website in question so as to own the rights to use the domain name.

2.) The website has a high Page Rank. This simply means that the website on sale has already gained credibility with the search engines, which will in turn help you to attract free organic search engine. You can check for pr here: http://www.prchecker.info/check_page_ran...

3.) Lastly the website has a good Alexa rank. This is an indication of how many people are visiting the website. The more visitors the lower the alexa rank, and you know what that is a good thing. you can check for alexa rank here http://www.alexa.com/

If non of these exists, you will be better off starting your own site than waste your money.

You might also want to see if the website has any questionable traits like being banned by any search engine.

  6. If this is your first time, I suggest you build your own website to get the experience you need to acquire. Buying an existing website is a good idea only if you have all online marketing and technical skills to develop and promote website.
