  1. None. If you are uninsured and are hit by a bus, you are not left to die in the street. Something called Medicaid pays the bills.

Anyone who thinks hospitals treat uninsured people, and eat the cost, is misinformed.

In addition, anyone who believes that "uninsured" means "unemployed" is really off the mark.

There are people in this country working full-time for the minimum wage who are supposed to contribute 25 cents per hour for each insured person on their policy.

And the policies are often absolute garbage.

Many are offered "benefits" in the form of Afflack. What a joke that is.

Then there are the large corporations that know damned well that when their employees get sick or are critically injured, they'll end up on welfare. Which is just fine by them.

As far as concerns doctor bills, there are many MD's in this country who never collect on 40% of the bills they send out.

If a doctor sends a bill to a member of the uninsured working poor, it is highly unlikely that he or she will ever collect. Many MD's don't bother with collection agencies; the return is insignificant.

The fact is that this country's health care system is now "socialized" in a highly inefficient and costly way.

People in medicine just aren't all the greedy SOB's they're made out to be.

    Not quite. Not completely.

Most Republicans assume that a jobless person, or a member of the working poor, is simply left in the gutter to die.

Wrong. We haven't reached that point as a society. Not quite, not entirely.

But such a situation is the Republican version of the American Dream.

The majority of people in this country are done living that "dream."

  2. The question should read, "How much money could be saved if we did NOT have to give free health care to illegal aliens."

  3. Well, difficult to quantify.  However, there is the fact that health care related expenses are the number one cause for declaring bankruptcy, then there is the disability we pay to people whose chronic illness could have been corrected by preventative care.  There's also the lost revenue from the children who won't grow up due to third world levels of infant mortality.

  4. Go here for an overview of uninsurance:

The cost of not providing it is greater overall.

  5. if any money is saved by not providing universal health care then more than the double of the saving would be spend on the removal of deadly disease's which keep on poping one after the another in this global world

  6. Not as much as you think.  The uninsured still get care. When people can't afford to pay, the costs simply get passed on to others.  Add to that the fact that the uninsured don't get preventative care and therefore tend to wind up in expensive emergency care situations and you see how expensive it really is to have nearly 50 million uninsured.

  7. NONE

If we took the Insurance Company Profits OUT of Health Care the cost would be LESS.

  8. Why is it we provide universal health care to Iraq and Afghanistan, but not our own people?

Take the profit out of health care, I suspect the taxpayers wouldn't feel it nearly as much as the bought and paid for insurance sleazeballs on smear radio would have you believe.

  9. Here is way to get a rough handle on the money.

Look at your pay stub and see how much they take out for health care.

Now take that amount and multiply it by 4 because companies pick up 75% since they won't have that cost you are going to pick that up.

Now when the government takes a dollar of your taxes about 10 cents makes it to that project.

So take the last amount and times that by 10.

That number is going to be your health care cost per check.

Now if you can name me a government social program not riddle with problems cost of out control let me know because that cost will go up even more.

Same government pays $100 for a hammer what do you think they are going to pay for an asprin?

Look how the government handle Katerina victims you are going to trust those people with your health?

The words that should strike terror in your heart is "We are here from the government and we are here to help."
