  1. If you added Gigabytes of memory then you just added more space to hold more document, pics., music etc. If you added more Gigabytes in RAM then you are make your computer faster. Both are typically good things to do for your computer and nothing bad will happen. Everything will remain the same or advance.

  2. Your MacBook should be noticebly faster than it is now although "how fast" will depend a lot on what apps you are running.  

    Mac Office Word is pretty bloated on a Mac. The internet won't be any faster, it will rip CDs faster, it will be able to run 5 or 6 applications like Photoshop, Excel, iMovie, iTunes, Dreamweaver and a game or two happily at the same time without seeing the spinning beach ball of doom

    The maximum RAM you can install on a MacBook is 4GB

    To the top poster, Dude - RAM IS Memory - it is RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY.

  3. gigs of RAM or memory? More gigs of RAM will load applications faster and more memory will let you store more.
