By how much does compost reduce waste???

for the average household 5% just look at what is compostable that you throw out,vegatable peelings,fruit cores,egg shells,tea bags and coffee grinds(if you drink that stuff) I compost all that I can from our home and within a week I fill a small 1 gal pail,but better in my compost than in the landfill
