  1. I think you are asking about the motion in it's orbit. In a very simplistic view, In 6 months the motion will be at the same speed but at an angle of 180 degrees to the original momentum.

    In 12 months it is back to where it was.

    But there are other motions. The earth is spinning and has angular momentum. In it's rotation around the sun, it also has angular momentum. And with the sun, it is moving around the galactic center.
