  3. A karyotype can tell about the size and number of chromosomes and not the mutation of specific gene.So, I think the answer is B.

    A karyotype only shows the overall morphology of the chromosomes as viewed through a microscope. You can detect changes in chromosome number, as well as large structural changes including inversions, translocations, deletions etc. But you cannot observe changes to individual genes... the magnification is not great enough.
