Will he become and ally of Chavez and follow in Castro's footsteps?

How long before he starts cracking down on dissent?

  1. He wants to follow that path, that's why he is so scary, his policies make absolutely no sense for a capitalist system.

If elected, he will bring utter destruction to our economy just with his tax increases, forgetting all the other Liberal socialistic things he wants to do.

The greatest enemy facing our country today is not coming from foreign soil it’s living among us, it’s not terrorisms it’s liberalism.

  2. "take on big business".........what does that mean?

  3. He has to get to the Whitehouse first.

I would never vote for him.  He is a full blown marxist.  Not only that, but he is an inexperienced child.

What is truly comical about him is his statement that the leader of Venezuela is someone who 'can be handled'.  Talk about naive...

  4. No, as an economist, although he seems to be talking nice talk to those who oppose free trade, his voting policies are the mark of a strong free trader.

As to health care, it is not in a freely traded market anyway so it isn't obvious that Federal tinkering will be any worse or any better than state Insurance Commissioner tinkering.  Indeed, when you consider the role Medicare and Medicaid play in pricing, a national system cannot possibly be much worse and it could be a Pareto improvement.  The United States hasn't had a free market for health care in the lifetime of most Americans.

Insurers are the response to market failure, not part of a market.  They are the market.  They determine pricing through negotiations and do so in a way that excludes people not insured by them.
