Question:

By what date must you decline AS exam results?

I messed up on one of my units and would like to resit a couple of them next year. I am an external candidate and cannot get through to anyone at the school to discuss this with any of the teachers - it could be that they won't allow me to resit them since they did it this year as a favour.

Is there a deadline as to when you have to decline your grades? Because it looks like I'll have to wait until September since the teachers and exams office seems closed.

I'm with AQA by the way, but I cannot find anything about dates on their website.

  1. Well, the deadline at my school is 26th Sept, so presumably it's in October (allowing for admin time). Good luck :) x

  2. I think it's in October but I could be wrong. Don't worry, it's not before school starts again.

  3. Since January 2008 there has be a 'no declines' rule. This means that you do not need to decline your grade, you just resit the unit when you want and make sure you ask for aggregation in the same series as you resit. It's the same rule for all boards: you can get this verified by talking to your school or college exams officer.
