By when should I expect my period after a D&C Procedure?

My bleeding started on July 20(still pregnant)

July 28th-my baby w/heart beat was seen on ultrasound(still bleeding)

July 30 in the evening I went to the ER and doctors told me that I had an incomplete miscarriage, and had the D&C procedure right at 8 wks in my pregnancy

Bleeding continued for a whole week off and on more like spotting, then dark red

Bleeding stopped completely on August 10th

Before my pregnancy my period has always been on a 35-37 day cycle, will that change now that I had this happened? Or will it still be the same length? By when should I expect my period? I plan to get pregnant ASAP. The doctor that gave me the procedure said to wait 3 months, but she didn't give me any more information(she was in a hurry) while the nurse that stayed to check me a little more, said to not have s*x for 6 weeks, but to check with MY doctor to see what he tells me. I have my appointment with him next week. To this day I haven't had s*x with my hubby.

Also, are you really more fertile after a miscarriage? When my hubby and I tried to get pregnant, I got pregnant on my 2nd month. So, in my heart I feel that I won't have a hard time getting pregnant next time(besides I'll have s*x every night with my hubby!!)

  1. everyone is different, your period will come when your body has gotten over the operation, cycle should still be the same length. you should wait a few months before trying to conceive again to let your body heal, you are more fertile after having a d/c!
