My son counts to ten and says ABCDE. He also sings Happy Birthday To You and Itsy Bitsy Spider, and Head and Shoulder Knees and Toes. : ) I didn't think that something so simple as a toddler singing and counting could make me smile so much.

My Mom always brags how my older sister could sing her entire alphabet by her 2nd Bday!

  1. my baby also do the same thing. And he didn't make baby talk either. I go to the doctor if that is okay then she said that my child just really do well. You just have to give him attention so that he will not loose his eagerness to learn new things.

My mom said I can recite Pepe and Pilar when I was three.

    Happy parenting!

  2. She could count to ten.

The important thing here is to not compare your child with others.  Children learn at vastly different rates - but they all get there in their own time.

  3. At two counting to 10 is great!  Children can get numbers and letters confused for a while, so don't let that discourage you.  If you want him to count higher just count things with him, but make it seem like a game. It also helps if you give them visuals, like counting objects rather than just counting.  It will also help him in developing the concept of one-to-one correspondence if you count objects.

  4. My daughter knew quite a bit.  She could count to 13-ish (missing 9, I think) and knew her ABCs (expect instead of HIJK it was KKJK).  She's almost three now so it's kind of hard to remember where she was 10 months ago.

Sounds like your son is very smart.

  5. that's a great start, you must spend a great deal of time with him.

my first could count to 10 and recite the abc's by 2. she was a real chatter box and i couldn't shut her up. she is nearly 16 now and i cant get her to talk much. lol that's teens for you.

my new baby is 18months and not really talking much at all yet, no numbers, no abc's.

your child is doing great and its not good to compare them to anyone else each child learns at a different rate.

enjoy the little songs and stuff now and you will find he will learn something new every day.

  6. TRUST ME IT DOSEN'T MATTER WHAT ANYONE ELSES KID DOES OR DID, EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT, SO JUST WORK WITH YOUR CHILD AND HE WILL DO IT WHEN HE IS READY, NO 2 CHILDREN ARE ALIKE.

  7. My oldest was able to do so many things when he was two. But now he is nine. I honestly can't remember all the things I taught him. But let me say this. Be careful how much you force the child to 'learn' so very early. Its good to teach. But make sure it is a fun thing and not a 'look what my kid can do' thing. They will eventually learn all those things anyway.

Like I said I have no idea what all he could do back then. It really isn't as important as one might think. They won't go to college and not know their ABC's. Make sure you leave plenty of time for just being a kid. Its fine to teach them. But just make sure you focus more on being a child than making them into a side show of 'watch this'.

  8. My neiced counted up to "three" and said only "abc". Thats all that she learnt.

  9. I was reading at 2!  Honestly!

  10. My daughter is almost two and she can count to 10 but only the even numbers lol. I say one, she says two and so on. We're still working on the alphabet. If I say A she still says O after me.
