Bypassing a/c compress...

Question

I'm trying to bypass the a/c compressor on a 2004 dodge neon, bought a shorter belt but can't get it around the pulleys. Any suggestions?

not too sure why your doing this ?, is the compressor seized ?, if not, just unplug it and leave the belt on, if it is go to a reputable service center and tell them what your trying to do, many neons came without a/c so there has to be a way, maybe installing an idler pully?, or whetever, maybe your just not installing the belt properly, again, go ask a known good mechanic, I'm certain he'd be glad to offer you some assistance.

follow the belt diagram by the radiator or under the hood

are you sure you have the correct belt?

are you using the pulley tensioner?
