Byron Blue expected to thrive in Betfair Handicap
The Jamie Osborne trained brown colt, Byron Blue, is likely to walk away with the ace title of the Betfair Handicap today, August 7 when he runs on the standard to slow racecourse of Kempton alongside half a dozen worthy rivals. The Class 5 race over 2 miles
is scheduled to begin at 7:55 (GMT).
With his eye on the cash prize worth £2,264, the three-year-old veteran runner will deliver to his best. For the first time in his 9-race career, he is going to face such sort of race conditions. Thus, it will be a little bit difficult for him to manage
his pace but he will fix this fault line with his inherent racing capabilities that are made of the legacy of his sire, Dylan Thomas, and dam, High Society.
The colt gained a lot of confidence by winning the Ritec Clearshield Handicap over 1 mile and 6 furlongs at Haydock racecourse on July 5, 2012. He emphatically claimed first position despite being a non-favourite candidate.
The San Gabriel Investments bred runner moved on to finish 3rd in the 8-participant race of the XL Group Handicap at Sandown on July 18.
These two back-to-back excellent performances have boosted up Byron Blue’s morale to a great extent. If he manages to run to his best, he will be able to add another sterling success to his portfolio today.
Almost equally capable to Byron Blue is Queen’s Star who marvellously accomplished a grand victory in the XL Group Handicap---the same race in which, Byron Blue finished 3rd.
Following her maiden victory, the Andrew Balding trained chestnut filly went on to finish 5th in the 9-runner event of the Brewin Dolphin Supports Tenovus Handicap, held at Chepstow on July 27.
Like Byron Blue, Queen’s Star has too never experienced standard or slow courses. Thus, both these worthy contestants almost stand head-to-head.
In this situation, a fierce and rip-roaring battle can be expected at Kempton. A large number of the spectators will make up to the venue to enjoy the live action. Good luck to all the contestants who are going to give an entertaining race to their fans.
